About Me

Hello and welcome to Talking Willow. I’m Lorie Drozdenko, the owner of the shop.

I chose the name Talking Willow because of my love for nature. When I’m out walking about in the great outdoors with my apricot beagle, Cody, I can feel the trees and earth inspiring me to capture some of the essence of the life around us.

Have you ever sat in the woods by yourself and simply listened? It’s amazing how Mother Nature talks to us.

From the wind gently blowing through the leaves, to a lowly sparrow singing at dawn, to the soothing sounds of a burbling creek…Nature whispers to us.

As Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote in his lovely poem, Musketaquid:

"I am a willow of the wilderness,

Loving the wind that bent me. All my hurts

My garden spade can heal. A woodland walk,

A quest of river-grapes, a mocking thrush,

A wild rose, or rock-loving columbine,

Salve my worst wounds."
